Design process, concept, goals:

1.this project was about to create an efficient kitchen space that was going to include an increase of storage space and of appliances and hide as much as possible some unpleasant elements like the water boiler...the existing kitchen was a L shape, without any good use of the wall space;

2.the clients wanted to create a “portal”/entrance effect to create some sort of limit between the kitchen area and the rest of the floor level (but without introducing a plasterboard partition);

3.the main feature of the space was the window’s view (lots of green) so the idea was to keep the whole kitchen very neutral and bright;

4.due to the challenging space dimensions, was required to keep the whole feeling of the furniture as light as possible.

Products introduced: the kitchen is a 36&8 Lago kitchen, all matt glass bianco puro touch; the worktop and splashbacks are from Silestone, in Bianco Rivers Polished; all the appliances are Miele (apart from the Bosch ovens that have been provided by the clients); sink and tap are from Smeg.

Achieved (referred to the points above) and remarks from client:

  1. storage space almost duplicate by the C shape configuration, the use of 4 kitchen columns, the use of wall units and Lagolinea shelves (the boiler is covered by using a brand-new custom made -on my design- Lago column);
  2. effect achieved by using two columns at the extremities of the composition;
  3. effect achieved using the mentioned colours;
  4. effect achieved using the floating system.

For this project, I involved our contractors because the whole space required works on the plumbing and electrical side as well as moving internal partitions and wall reinforcements (for them I had to create technical drawings). I have been told from Daniel of DR&CO. that the customers absolutely loved the final result…also, Daniel mentioned that he wants to ask to a professional photographer to take pictures of the space (I believe to use it on his website) …I mentioned to him that we would like to have this pictures as well.
